Nergiz Gürbüz Çolak graduated with a
B.Sc. degrees in Biochemistry from Ege University, Turkey. During her
undergraduate study, she became interested in biotechnology, specifically
microbial enzyme production. She received MSc. (2010), and Ph.D. (2017) in
Molecular Biology and Genetics from the İzmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH),
Turkey. After private sector experience as a researcher, she has begun to work
as a lecturer in the IZTECH since March 2020. She mainly focused on the
metabolic profiling of both primary and secondary metabolites, genetic mapping,
development of chromatographic techniques to analyze the extent of metabolites,
and phytochemistry during her graduate education. After her graduate education,
she extended her research to nanoencapsulation and in silico drug development.
She continues to work at IZTECH with studies of her interests and specialties
Research Interest:
Plant-based Pharmaceuticals, Molecular Docking, In silico Drug Discovery,
Encapsulation, Nanocarriers, Plant Molecular Genetics, Chromatography,
Metabolic Profiling, Extraction, Quantification, and Purification of
Metabolites
