Research Interest: My fields of interest are on the
history and epistemology of medicine and life sciences from XVII to XX century.
I’m specialized, in particular, in the history of pathology and pathological
anatomy from XVII to XIX century, and in the history of evolutionary biology
applied to medicine from late XIX century to current Evolutionary Medicine. I’m
involved also in divulgation and analysis of current debates on medicine,
public health, evolutionary biology and bioethics.
I’m particularly focused on the evolution of scientific methods, concepts, theories and instruments by which medicine studies diseases and clinical phenomena. My principal sources are books and articles; statistical evaluations of the impact of articles and books on scientific communities; private correspondences; autopsy reports and clinical sheets; specimens of Medical Museums; portraits, illustrations, paintings and sculptures.
