Dr. Chiara Villa is a post-doctoral fellow who started her research activity at Dept. of Neurological Sciences, University of Milan, Fondazione Cà Granda IRCCS Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in 2006. In 2009 she obtained her PhD in Molecular Medicine. Her research activity was focused on genetic and expression analyses in order to clarify the effects of allelic variants in key genes on development and progression of two neurodegenerative diseases: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD). In 2014, she moved to the University of Milano-Bicocca and joined a research group working in the study of molecular bases of autism and sleep disorders, including restless legs syndrome (RLS) and nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy (NFLE). Her work is now focused on applying her previous research experience in this field.
