Dr. Alessio Metere is a General Surgeon specialising in the surgery of thyroid, parathyroid, and other general surgical procedures. He attended several Italian hospitals and, as Visiting Surgeon, the Columbia University Medical Center of New York. He is also specialized in Clinical Biochemistry and is graduated both, in Medicine and Surgery with honours and in Biological Sciences with honours. He worked as Researcher at the Italian Institute of Health (ISS), focusing his field of research on the role of oxidative stress and innovative biomarkers in thyroid, parathyroid and breast cancers, COPD and Cardiovascular disease. Actually he is engaged as Endocrine Surgeon at Department of Surgical Sciences of "Sapienza" University of Rome and he is responsible for the medical practical activities of Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery of the International Medical School of “Sapienza” University of Rome. Since completing surgical training, Dr. Metere was subsequently engaged in PhD. by “Sapienza” University of Rome, where he is continuing his research on thyroid and breast cancer.
